The year 2020 is fast approaching, and by then you should have the ADSB equipment installed in your aircraft. A lot of us do, and so should you. This month Renee Robinson from the FAA will brief us about the ADS-B system we should all be installing. Learn about ADSB out, and in and 978 vs 1090 systems.
This won’t be a presentation about one brand vs. another, but how the system works and what you as a pilot can expect from it, and why we need it in this ever more complex airspace we all fly in. The system has major benefits that every pilot can use.
Who wouldn’t want this strapped to their knee. With ADSB in it’s possible to get weather and the location of all the aircraft around you. Just a quick glance will tell you that the nearest traffic is 2.6 miles away at a bearing of 209, at 700 feet and descending. That’s right, it’s available and all happening right now. All of the aircraft broadcast their exact position and altitude along with their aircraft type and N–Number. Renee will fill us in on how the system works. This will be helpful when we are selecting what equipment we want in our aircraft, from a simple ADSN out only system, to ADS-B in and out.
So, please come and join us. This is much better than the movie we were going to see, this is news you can use. Please plan to attend. This is information you wont want to miss!
